New Facility Poises Production Automation Company for Growth
ATLANTA—Oct. 15, 2010—basiQa, the production automation solutions company, announces two key additions to its leadership team and the opening of a proof-of-concept print production lab. The firm, founded in 2009, has added Aaron Paden as vice president of information technology and Franklin McMillan as vice president of operations. The entrepreneurial management team was expanded and the new facility opened to accommodate increasing demand for the benefits afforded by basiQa’s solution—a centralized platform for the automated management of multi-channel communications.
“The management expertise and professional maturity of these individuals enables basiQa to more effectively deliver the benefits of production automation to our corporate, agency and print services clients,” said Joël Rowland, founder and president of the Norcross-based firm. “The addition of Franklin and Aaron enable us to more efficiently provide the many advantages of managing production, fulfillment and tracking of print, email, text, social, PURL and text-to-voice communications through a single, customizable SaaS portal,” he said.
As vice president of information technology, Paden directs basiQa’s research and development efforts, creating and enhancing the production automation software that enables clients to increase workflow efficiency, enhance communication effectiveness—and provide more value.
For the past 10 years, Paden has served in IT research, development and management capacities at a variety of software companies. Paden served as a software architect at Infor and as a senior systems analyst with EarthLink. He has also held positions as programming manager with NCP Solutions, a data and outsourcing solutions company, and as a software engineer at DocuGlobal, a technology-based direct marketing firm founded by basiQa president Rowland and acquired by NCP in 2005. Paden is a graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology.
As vice president of operations, McMillan oversees the delivery of basiQa’s products and services, with primary responsibility for implementation services, proof-of-concept production, client-service and consulting. McMillan is charged with instilling process and procedure within the organization to help clients achieve full benefits of the company’s production automation solutions.
With over 20 years of experience in the direct-marketing industry, McMillan has managed print pricing and proposals, program management, vendor relationships, quality procedures, letter-shop and warehouse operations, platform solutions and implementations for direct-mail clients. He most recently served as director of print operations with multi-channel marketing organization, ClickSquared, Inc., where he managed departments responsible for workflow management, press planning, printing and mail execution of over 80 million pieces per year. Additionally, he served as director of business development and production at Miller.Whiterunkle Agency; senior account executive at Com-Pak Services, Inc.; and national sales manager of mailing and fulfillment at Curtis 1000.
McMillan is a USPS-certified mail-management professional, mail-center professional and mail-piece design specialist. He served on the Greater Atlanta Postal Customer Council as industry co-chair for the past two years. McMillan has a bachelors of administration degree in business from Indiana University.
In addition to the hiring of the two key members of the management team, basiQa also opened a new production lab facility. The production lab allows clients to incubate new print projects—leveraging available technology in a test environment to streamline production and increase communication effectiveness.
“The basiQa production automation portal is complemented by a sophisticated proof-of-concept production lab that allows partners to test new projects and IT approaches,” said Rowland. “The production lab is a tangible way to not only showcase our solutions, but to give clients a means of integrating new variable data and other technologies in an effort to increase efficiency while enhancing their communications programs," he said.
